Day 2 started with breakfast~! Checked out of apartment and left luggage behind. Walked around nearby and found a rather populated cafe, decided it's safe to try, and it turned out to be really good.
Really liked how they used naan bread rather than toasts, and I absolutely loved the olive oil salsa.
I forgot to take a photo of the menu, so not only do I not know the name of the cafe, I've also forgotten what was ordered. That's a shame because they have really nice food there. I suppose this looks like a salmon eggs benedict? The only clue I have of this place is that they serve Merlo Coffee.
Glass House Mountains...
That sign before was such a lie. It's 700m? Felt more like 3km! The steep hill was a huge pain to walk up, and you'd think, 700m, can't be that far, but if you're going uphill the entire time, it takes a long time.
This feels as soft as Latti's ears XD
Some weird 3D plant...
Since it was a steep incline, the view no doubt was beautiful, though they were burning something that day, so it was quite hazy. Looking very much like a pastel drawing.
At the top of the hill is an observatory deck where a guard is keeping watch... I forgot what he said it was for, all I was thinking was that this guy has to climb up and down that freaking hill every time he needed to go to work??
Stanley and his tilt shift effect~
Then along the way to Brisbane (yea, not there yet), there were rows of pine trees and it was absolutely beautiful.
Lots of colours~
I took a few home because the smell of pine (oil) is known to repel insects like flies. Summer is approaching, along with flies... I've been researching natural methods of keeping flies out of the way and found citronella oil, pine oil and perhaps eucalyptus oil are smells flies detest.
It feels like Blue Mountains, where there are cute little shops set up along the way where one could buy souvenirs and specialty jams, homemade sauces and fresh organic products.
They specialised in sauces and jams, where they use fresh fruits and usually with a splash of alcohol like grand marnier or cointreau.
Gotta say though, the mountains were quite beautiful and there were so many of them!
A lot of tracks that one could just detour into.
Sunset on the way home!
So this entry is mainly nature stuff, and I'm not good at taking photos of nature stuff. Doesn't help that I didn't bring a tripod (shock horror) so Stanley wasn't doing too well, but next entry~ death and birth of a day.
Hm... what did I do about lunch in Day 2 I wonder =| I'm finding huge gaps in my photo taking this trip...
